プレイヤーは自動生成される闇の世界を探索して、死なないように、しかしより強くなれるように１日１日を過ごしていきます。

酒場をみつけたらギャンブルに挑んでみるのもいいでしょう。
ゴミ広場を見つけたらとりあえずあさってみるのもいいでしょう。
武器屋防具屋を見つけたら、生きていくために盗みを働くべき場面だってあるかもしれません。

基本すべてが自由です。シンプルなゲームなので、生き抜くこと以外はさほど難しくありません。

画面には常に８つの選択肢が提示されており、そこから正しいと思ったものを選んでいくだけです。
理不尽すぎる闇の世界で１日でも長く「生きる」こと、それこそがゲームの目的です。

１日を過ごす――。
基本的にはダンジョンゲームの【階段】という概念が【眠る】に置き換わったものと考えるとわかりやすいと思います。
ふつう、ダンジョンでは【階段】を降りれば降りるほど、敵が強くなり、手に入る武器や防具も強力なものになっていきます。
対してこのゲームは【闇の底】という場所で１日【眠る】たび闇が深くなり、モンスターが強くなり、武器や防具も強力になっていくのです。

ダンジョンゲームのフロア同様、世界は自動で生成されます。
民家のある日もあれば、宝の遺跡がある日もあります。ここらへんは、やってみればわかると思います。


単なる冒険者では五日生きるのも困難です。まずは【闇の欠片】を集めましょう。
【闇の欠片】は眠って夢を観た時、レアモンスターの撃破時、宝箱を開いた時などに入手可能です。
【闇の欠片】を集めると、より優れた才能をアンロックすることができます。



シナリオなんてありません。プレイヤー１人１人の生き様こそがストーリーです。
モンスターに敗北する人生もあるでしょう、トラップに引っかかって死んでしまう人生もあるでしょう、ゴミあさってたら棘がささって死んでたなんて人生もあるでしょう。

そういう、ロールプレイングゲームです。
